Abstract In this paper, the advantages achievable from use of two prototype systems that are being developed to increase safety and security in ports shown. Both start by monitoring environmental parameters harbors, then process data acquired. The first system has been conceived be helpful port communities (port authorities, pilots) optimize harbor waterside management (ship’s navigation cargo, dock performances, boat moorings, refloating stranded ships, water quality control). By processing sea level atmospheric pressure areas, it can help communities, e.g., choose best time when a ship with certain draft enter or leave harbor, plan route inside basin for vessel safety). second system, instead, designed protection purposes: Earth’s magnetic field below surface harbors (where natural is disturbed high artificial component), able detect possible presence intruders (e.g., divers) swimming underwater prohibited areas security).
